The National Commission for Elections (CNE) urges Political Parties to stick to the official political campaign schedules submitted to the commission, to avoid unnecessary clashes between parties.
“There aren’t any restrictions about where they can campaign all over the territory. What must not happen are clashes between political parties,” said CNE Commissioner Arif Abdulla Sagran (05/06) from CNE’s headquarters in Kintal Bo’ot, Dili.
The Commissioner added the time for campaigning starts at 08:00 a.m. and must end by 6:30 p.m. and campaigning will go on until 04 July 2012.
“We also urge parties to not provoke each other because this will create conflict,” said Commissioner Abdulah.
Meanwhile Member of Parliament (MP) Pedro da Costa, CNRT, assured his party would campaign with the people, without resorting to conflict.
“The message we take is a message of peace, stability and of development,” said MP da Costa.
He added during the time of campaigning, CNRT will inform the people about its five year plan and what they will do for the people.
