Members of Parliament have suggested the government support the family of the deceased scholarship student Elidio dos Reis, who died in Portugal, to help pay for his corpse to come back to Timor.
President of Commission F (for education, health, veterans and gender equality), MP Virgilio da Costa said the state had the obligation to facilitate bringing the corpse back to Timor-Leste based on traditional customs.
“The important thing is the government should give support to the family in order to bring the corpse back to Timor,” said the President of Commission F, Virgillio da Costa Hornai, (03/04), in the National Parliament.
