Telecommunications Operator Telemor has equipped the National Police of Timor-Leste PNTL with live video feed transmission so that municipal commanders can directly video call the General Commander with security updates from the regions. The new system was installed during the recent legislative campaign period.

Telemor has equipped the National Police of Timor-Leste PNTL with live video feed transmission.

The General Commander of PNTL Commissioner Julio Hornai said that the live feed will allow him to listen and see directly the challenges faces on the ground across the municipalities.
“We can witness directly what is happening, what difficulties they may be facing,” he said from his office in Dili.
Through the direct transmission, municipal commanders can also report directly on the number and types of crimes being committed in some municipalities and how they intend to solve them.
He added the new system will also allow PNTL to deploy additional police officers to at risk areas.
On the other hand, the Manager of Marketing at Telemor Nguyen Duc Binch-Roger said the facilities provided to the PNTL were free and part of the company’s intention to facilitatethe work of the security forces in keeping peace and stability on the ground.
“We support them [PNTL] free of charge free of charge, we did this during the campaign and during the election period,” he said.
